Coordinating the regional response to the HIV epidemic. We are dedicated to preventing new infections, ensuring universal access to life-saving treatment, and eliminating stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV (PLHIV) across Dire Dawa.

Care, Treatment & ART Adherence
We coordinate lifelong Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services, ensuring patients receive the medication and monitoring they need to achieve viral suppression. We also manage opportunistic infections and run adherence clubs to support patients.

PMTCT & Early Infant Diagnosis
To guarantee an HIV-free generation, we ensure all pregnant women receive HIV counseling and testing. HIV-positive mothers are provided with ART, and their infants receive prophylaxis and early diagnosis to prevent mother-to-child transmission.

Meet the Coordinator
Dr. Selamawit Bekele
Dr. Selamawit Bekele is an infectious disease specialist with over a decade of experience in clinical care and public health program management. She has been instrumental in scaling up viral load testing and integrating TB/HIV services across the Dire Dawa region.
Holding a Master's degree in Public Health, Dr. Selamawit is a passionate advocate for human rights and believes that community ownership is the key to ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
